*Dr Bushell was probably Seth Bushell the vicar of Preston from 1664-1682. According to the Dictionary of National Biography he "was a loyal, pious, and charitable man, courteous to the dissenters and respected by them." He was the grandfather of William Bushell who founded the Goosnargh hospital.
