1. The severall psons hereafter named in three shillings four pence a peece for their non appeareance att the then Court Leet being duly summoned by the Sarjt. vizt.

Mr Ralph Rishton, Mr Evan Huson, Richard Myers, John Merry, William Hoghton, John Crabtree, Nicholas Pasley, Chrofer Jackson, Richard Jackson, Henry Jackson, Edm. Kelsall, John Cook, Mr Wm. Haydock, Joseph Bolton, John Campbell, Tho. Woodborne, Mr Rich Hartley, John Cowborne, Geo. Barker, John Colly, Thomas Watson, Thomas Pedder, James Garstang, Willm Welshman.

2. The severall psons following for not setting Yates or Rales before their severall Sellar Staires haveing had time given them and by the Informacon of the Pinders not done before the first day of December 1698, And wee doe Amerce them in three shillings four pence a peece, vizt.

Mr Alderman Winckley, John Greenhalgh ffarrier, Mrs Elizabeth Seed, Mr Richard Langton, Mrs Martin widdow, Mrs Dorothy Wall, Mr Alderman Walmsley, Mrs Halliwell, John Woods sen, Mr Willm Carter.

3. The Bayliffs of this Town for not repaireing the Rampire in Corker hole lane, and for not flagging and stooping the same, haveing the like time given as afoursaid not done as the said Pinders on their Oath informd us, Therefore wee Amerce the said Bayliffs in Twenty shillings.

4. John Woods the elder for not scoureing his ditch and not repaireing his ffence in Broadgate Lane end haveing had the like time given and Notice thereof, and yet not done as the said Pinders informed us. Wee doe Amerce him therefore in thirteen shillings and four pence.

5. John Walton for not repaireing his garden fence betwixt him and Henry Crooke, haveing had like time and notice, wee doe therefore Amerce him in three shillings four pence.

6. (As formerly hath been) Widdow Woods of the Anker, for not railing, fenceing or filling up her deep and dangerous middingstead in St Johns Weend, And doe Amerce her in the summe of Twenty shillings.

7. Edwd. Bond, Mary Townend, Thomas Rideing and John Townend Shoemaker for letting their Swine abroad unringd & unyoakd to the prejudice of many of their neighbours. And doe Amerce the said Bond in ffifty shillings and the rest wee Amerce in thirteen shillings four pence a peece.

8. John Clayton, Ralph Commander and Mathew Read for setting their Carts in the Street, and doe Amerce each of them in six shillings eight pence, the same being very dangerous to Travellers and other psons passing there in the darke Evenings.

9. The severall shopkeepers and Tradesmen within this Town hereafter named each of them haveing taken one or mor Apprentice who have served them above one month and yet have not entred and Inrolled them according to an order of the last Guild Merchant. Therefore wee Amerce them severally in six shillings eight pence a piece, haveing each of them one Apprentice to Inroll. vizt.

10. The psons following for laying their Middings in St. Johns Weend, they haveing had time given till the twenty fifth of December last, and yet not done as the said Pinders informed us. Therefore wee Amerce them in six shillings eight pence a peece they haveing had notice of our said Presentmt. vizt.

11. The psons following for not scowreing their ditches in the South Meadow lane the haveing had time and notice given to cleanse the same before Candlemas 1698. Therefore wee Amerce them in thirteen shillings four pence a peece. vizt.

12. Ann Holt for stopping the watercourse att Brown channell and turneing it through the Entry to the prejudice of severall Inhabitants dwelling in the backside of her house And doe Amerce her in Twenty shillings.

13. George Eastham for keeping a great Dog att the Churchgate Townend unmuzled being dangerous to many people, haveing assaulted severall, And doe Amerce him in fforty shillings, If for the future hee doe not keep him muzled or part with him.

14. These psons following for not scoureing their ditches in New hall lane the same being much out of Repaire, And doe Amerce them in one shilling six pence a peece. vizt.

15. The Supervisors of this Town for not repaireing the sevrall Highwayes vizt. Att the Churchgate Townend betwixt the Barrs & Almshouse, The Lane and Cawsey called ffishergate Lane to the Spring Road, The way and Cawsey from ffryergate Barrs to the Marsh lane, And the lane leading to the House of Correchon, And the Rampier att ffryergate Moor Yate, And the Rampier in Rible Bridge Lane, and the way and Cawsey in Newhall lane, And the way from Graystock house ther leading to Swill Brook, And the Bridge leading to Willm Graystocks house, And the Bridge called Davill Bridge leadeing to the Marsh. All being very ruinous and out of Repair. And doe Amerce them in ffifty shillings.

16. Evan Huson for not scoureing and cleanseing his watercourse running on the Northside of the ffryers being very foul and prejudiciall, And doe Amerce him in six shillings and eight pence, If not done before the first of March next.

17. John Ratcliffe for not makeing or Repaireing his ffence betwixt the Millfield and Balshaw Croft, the same lyeing down and Levell, And doe Amerce him in six shillings eight pence If not done before the first of May next.

18. The Bayliffs of this Town for nor repaireing the shooting butts upon Spitle Mosse and doe Amerce them in thirteen shillings and four pence, if not sufficiently Repaired before the sixteenth of ffebruary next 1698.

19. Henry Graystock for ridling his Ashes and makeing a midding in the publick street over against his house in the ffryergate, And doe Amerce him in six shillings eight pence.

20. Mr Alderman Walmsley for not repaireing his gunnall or watercourse running betwixt his and Edward Cravens house, the water running through and breaking into a Certain Sellar there now in possession of Mr Thomas Gradwell being very prejudicial to his goods and very ruinous to ye Sellar wall and building there. And doe Amerce him in ffive pounds if not repaired before the twentieth of ffebruary next 1698.

21. Ann Catterall widd for keeping an house of Office and Swine Coats very ffilthy, and in unfit places att her house in St. Johns Weend and for not cleanseing the same which is to the great Annoyance of all her Neighbours. And doe Amerce her in thirteen shillings and four pence.

22. The severall psons following for watering or sending their servants to water horses att the well called Mince pitt Well, And doe Amerce them in thirteen shillings four pence a peece. vizt.
