The Supervisors of the Highways for neglect of Duty in not repairing the Comon ffootway from the End of the Almshouse at the higher end of Saint Johns Weend within this Burrough leading from the said Street or Lane called Saint Johns Weend into a place called the Whittakers which the said Burrough or Town of Preston ought to repair And do Order the same to be well and Sufficiently amended and repaired in a Months time or we Amerce the said Supervisors in forty shillings.

Madam Mary Molyneux of Preston for permitting and Suffering a Deep draw Well in Molyneux Square within this Burrough to lye Open and Uncovered to the great peril and danger of the lives of his Majesties Liege Subjects passing and repassing thro' the said Square and a Comon Nusance And order her to rail or Cover the Same in a ffortnight after notice hereof or We Amerce her in ten pounds.

Mr John Nocks for neglecting to Cover the Stairs belonging to a Cellar in his possession under Mr Richard Shawes house in the Street called Churchgate Within this Town and Suffering the same to lye open and Uncovered to the great peril and danger of his Majesties Liege people passing and repassing thro' the said Street and a Comon Nusance And Amerce him in five shillings.

The Proprietors of the Waterworkd for not Covering the pluggs in the Streets and if not done in a Weeks time after Notice We Amerce them in xxs.

Mr Edmund Entwisle for neglecting to Cover his Cellar Stairs under Mr William Kilshaws Shop Adjoining the Street within this Burrough and Suffering the same to lye Open and Uncovered to the great peril and danger of his Majesties Liege people passing and repassing through the said Street and a Common Nusance and if not done in Weeks time after Notice We Amerce him in twenty shillings.

Thomas Place for the like Offence for not Covering his Cellar Stairs near the Buttercross if not done in a Week twenty shillings.

Mrs Elizabeth Parkinson Widow for the like Offence in not Covering or putting Rails before her Cellar Stairs in the Market place before the Shop now in William Wilkinson's possession and if not doen in a Week - xxs.

Mr George Taylor, Esther Townend and Richard Walton for the like Offence in not Covering or putting Rails before the several Cellar Stairs in their respective possions & if not done in a Weeks time We Amerce them in xxs. Each.

Henry Robinson for burning Cow Claws in or near the publick Streets, Lanes or highways within this Town and thereby raising and Occasioning a fulsom and Offensive Smell and Stench to the great danger of the healths of his Majesties Liege people living near the same and of others passing and repassing that way and a Comon Nusance And Amerce him in xxs.

The proprietors of the Waterworks for neglecting to Amend and repair several breaches in the pavements within the Streets of the own which they ought to repair And do Order them to amend the same sufficiently in a Weeks time after Notice or we Amerce them in forty shillings.

Elizabeth Beesley Widow, John Fell and Agnes Colderwood Widow Inhabitants and householders within this Burrough for severally keeping disorderly houses and therein concealing, harbouring and Entertaining Inmates, Vagabonds and other lewd, idle and disorderly persons and Amerce them in xxs. a piece.

Elizabeth Kitchen Widow, Mr James Stanley, Thomas Hardman, Mary Smith and Thomas Watson all Inhabitants within this Borrough for severally laying their Ashes or Dung hills in the Street called Cheapside within the same Burrough and for Emptying and teeming? out their Chamber potts in the said Street to the great Annoyance of the Neighbourhood thereabouts and to other his Majesties Leige people passing and repassing thro' the said Street and a publick Nusance and if not removed in a Week after Notice We Amerce them in xs Each.

Charles Holcroft for laying a large Midding or Dunghil below ffryergate Barrs in the highway there within the Liberties of this Burrough and for continueing the same there after he had been several time presented for the said Offecne to the great damage and Annoyance of the said highway and if not removed in a Week after Notice We Amerce him in forty shillings.

Roger Jameson for the like Offence and allow him the same time to remove the said Nusance and in case of default We Amerce him in xs.

James Moore for neglecting to place and Erect two Stiles for foot passengers in the Comon ffoot Way in the Close of ground in his possession within the liberties of this Burrough leading from a place or Close of ground within the same Burrough Usually called Hugh Walkers Garden to the Lane leading to Ribble Bridge and do Order the same to be done in a Month after notice or We Amerce him in five pounds.

The Supervisors of the highways for not amending & making a Sufficient foot way between Mr Winckleys ffirr trees and Graystock brook Lane and if not done in a ffortnight After Notice we Amerce them in forty Shillings.

Roger Walsham and William Tipping both of Preston for severally laying Dunghills and Garbage near the high way at a place called Spittle Moss within this Burrough which breed and produce Vermin and Annoy the highway there and are a publick Nusance And do Order them severally to remove the Same in a Months time or we Amerce them in ffive pounds a piece.

Ralph Kellet of Preston for regrating and getting into his hands and possession in the publick Market Within this Burrough one Load of Potatoes brought to the said Market to be sold and afterwards Selling the same Again in the Same Market And Amerce him for the said Offence the Sume of five shillings.

James Moor of Preston for not removeing and takeing Away the Earth, dirt and slutch thrown out of his Ditch at the higher End of Mr Husons Garden in the Back Weend in Preston Whereby the Comon ffoot Way there leading from the Moor Street along by the said Garden Wall is Annoyed and Obstructed And if not removed in a Weeks time after Notice hereof We Amerce him in ten shillings.
