Presentments : —

1. Thomas Ascroft alias Ashcroft of the Borough of Preston husbandman, for that he on the 16th day of August now last past did unlawfully break open a certain Door which was fixed to the common pound or Pinfold in the Borough aforesaid & a certain Staple and Lock fastned to the said Door did break and spoil and one Milch Cow the Goods & Chattle of him the said Thomas Ascroft alias Ashcroft in the said Common pound or pinfold the and there being legally impounded and detained for the Trespass which the said cow had done to one Robt Ward with force & Arms did take, let out & drive away & for such Offence We Amerce the sd Thomas Ascroft alias Ashcroft in the Sum of 13s. 4d.

2. Ann the wife of Henry Walmsley of the Borough of Preston aforesaid Labourer For that she on the 11th day of August now last past did unlawfully break open a certain Door which was fixed to the Common pound or pinfold in the Borough aforesaid and a certain Staple & Lock fastned to the same Door did break & spoil & one White Galloway the Foods & Chattles of the said Henry Walmsley, one Black mare the Goods and Chattles of one Richd Livesay and one Bay Colt the Goods & Chattles of Joseph Gornall in the said Common pound or pinfold then and there being legally Impounded and detained for the Trespass wch they had done to certain Waste Lands belonging to the Mayor, Bailiffs & Burgesses of the said Borough of Preston with force and Arms did take, let out and drive away and for such Offence We do Amerce the said Ann Walmsley in the sum of 13s. 4d.

3. Ellen the wife of Thomas Singleton of the Borough aforesaid husbandman, for that she on the 4th day of August now last past did unlawfully break open a certain Door which was fixed to the common pound or Pinfold in the Borough aforesaid & a certain Staple and Lock fastned to the said Door did break and spoil and one Shed Cow the Goods & Chattle of him the said Thos Singleton in the said Common pound or pinfold the and there being legally impounded and detained for the Trespass which the said cow had done to one Thos Ascroft alias Ashcroft with force & Arms did take, let out & drive away & for such Offence We Amerce the sd Elllen Singleton in the Sum of 13s. 4d.

4. The Bailiffs of the said Borough for not keeping in proper repair the pump near the Cocker hole in the Church Street as for want of such repair the Water overflows to the Great inconvenience and damage of several psons inhabiting in that neighbourhood And in case such pump be not repaired within one Month after Notice We Amerce the sd Bailiffs in the sum of £5.

5. The said Bailiffs for not repairing the platt Stones at the Wall near the School House and in Case the same are not repaired within three weeks after Notice We amerce them in the sum of 13s. 4d.

6. Mr Thos Woo[d]cock for not building a Wall before his Pigg sty in the Minspit Weend & laying Dung in the Minspit Weend the same being a publick Nusance & if the said Wall be not built & the Dung removed within Twenty days after Notice We do amerce him in the sum of 13s. 4d.

7. John ffalshaw of the Borough aforesaid for not keeping in repair his Cellar Lids in the back Weend Whereby bad Accidents may befall persons passing that way especially in the night time and if not repaired within ffive days after Notice We do Amerce him in the Sum of 13s. 4d.

8. Mr John Cooper of Walton in the Dale for not keeping in repair his Cellar Lids in the back weend whereby bad accidents may befall persons passing that way especially in the Night time & if not repaired within Twenty days after notice We do amerce him in the sum of 13s. 4d.

9. The Reverend Randall Andrews for not opening a sough in the Tyth Barn street, whereby the Inhabitants in that neighbourhood are greatly annoyed, and if not repaired within ffourteen days after notice we do amerce him in the sum of 13s. 4d.

10. Mr. Thos. Addison for having fixed a water pipe in that part of his House which stands in the Mitre yard, whereby his Majesty's subjects passing and repassing through the Mitre yard are greatly annoyed by the water in Windy Weather being blown in their faces, and if not removed or altered within 14 days after notice we do amerce him in the sum of 13s. 4d.

11. The Bailiffs for not repairing the pumps in the Back Weend, ffriergate and Churchgate & if not repaired within one month after Notice We Do Amerce them in the Sum of Twenty pounds.

12. Mr Henry ffayle for not repairing the Cellar Lids before his shop whereby accidents have happened & may happen to persons passing that way especially in the night time & if not repaired within ffourteen days after notice We do amerce him in the Sum of 13s. 4d.

13. The Bailiffs for not repairing that part of the Church street from the Town Hall to the Church Weend & if not repaired in one Month after notice We do Amerce them in the sum of ffive pounds.
