Presentments : —

1. Richard Eastham of the Borough aforesaid Stone Cutter for laying Wood and Stones in the Street opposite his Door in the Churchgate, And unless the same are removed within Six days after Notice We amerce him in the Sum of 6s. 8d.

2. John Hoggett of the Borough aforesaid Innkeeper for laying a Dunghill in the Lane near the Almes Houses in the Churchgate, And Unless the same is removed within Six days after Notice We amerce him in the Sum of 6s. 8d.

3. Thomas Harrison of the Borough aforesaid Innkeeper for not opening, cleaning and scouring a Ditch or Watercourse adjoining to a ffield in his possession situate in the Lane leading from Preston to Ribbleton, And if not sufficiently opened and cleansed within Six days after Notice We amerce him in the Sum of 6s. 8d.

4. John Watson the elder, Thomas Martin, Gilbert Jameson, Abraham Clitheroe, Thomas Baron, Alice Dawson Widow and Joseph Croft all of the Borough aforesaid for not scouring, cleaning and opening the watercourse and repairing the Causeway or Pavement entering from the End of the House in possession of Mr Robt Bailey to the bottom of the Turks Head Yard, the said several persons being respectively Occupiers of Gardens on each Side the said Watercourse, Causeway or Pavement, And unless the same watercourse is sufficiently opened and cleansed and such Causeway or Pavement sufficiently amended and repaired within one Month after Notice We do amerce them severally in the Sum of 6s. 8d.

5. Mr Robert Abbott of the Borough aforesaid Grocer for not repairing and amending the Platt near the Malt Kiln at the bottom of the Minspit Weend, And if not repaired within Six days after Notice We amerce him in the Sum of 6s. 8d.

6. The Bailiffs of the said Borough for not repairing the fflaggs or Stones at the Syke neat the waterworks, And if the same are not repaired within one Month after Notice we amerce them in the Sum of ten Shillings and Six pence.

7. James Maken of the Borough aforesaid Gentleman for permitting a Quantity of Clay and Rubbish to lye in the Street near John Harrabins in the ffishergate, And if not removed within Six days after Notice We amerce him in the Sum of 6s. 8d.

8. The Chapel Wardens for not repairing the Platt and Rails in or near the South Side of the Yard belonging to Saint Georges Chapel within Preston aforesaid, and unless the same are respectively repaired within one month after notice we amerce them in the sum of thirty-nine shillings.

In the side note the wardens are possibly named as Bramwell & Parkinson.

9. Mr William Hardman of Caddiley for laying Rubbish in the Chapel Street, And Unless the same is removed within Six days after Notice We amerce him in the Sum of 6s. 8d.

10. The Bailiffs of the said Borough for not repairing the Pump in the Market-place and also that near Charles Townshends in the ffriergate, and if the same are not sufficiently repaired and amended within one Month after Notice We amerce them in the sum of thirtv-nine shillings.

11. James Wreton? and William Pollard both of Preston aforesaid Joiners for laying Oak and Dale? Timber in that part of the Back Lane which is near the Woodyards in their respective possessions, And unless each of them removes the Timber which belongs to them respectively within Six days after Notice We amerce them severally in the Sum of ten shillings.

12. Henry Lutwidge, of Walton, Esquire, and John Cooper, of Gregson Lane, within Walton aforesaid, for not sufficiently amending and repairing the Street or Road near the Mill in Molyneux's Square, and in the said Square, and if not repaired within one month after notice we amerce them in the sum of thirty-nine shillings each.

13. Robert Dugdale of the Borough aforesaid Blacksmith for suffering Carts to stand and remain and Mr James Cheetham for laying Dung in the Back Weend near the Mill in Molyneux's Square, And unless they severally remove such Carts and Dung within Six days after Notice We amerce them in the Sum of twenty shillings each.

14. Thomas Baxter of Preston aforesaid Carter for laying Timber in the Street near the Sign of the Green Man in the Back Weend, And if not removed within Six days after Notice We amerce him in the Sum of ten Shillings.

15. Thomas Bentley? of Preston afsd Carrier for making or laying a Dung hull or Midding Stead in the Tythe Barn Street; And if he does not remove and take away the same within Six days after Notice we amerce him in the Sum of Ten Shillings and Six pence.
