1.  Register of Voters, with examinations as to their validity (DDPd 11/51) - remarkable in the detail it contains

2.  Poll Book - 1768 - (DDKe Box 87 6) - the equivalent of a modern canvas.  This document was probably only produced within the last 10 days before the election since Hoghton was only added as a candidate in the last weeks.

3.  Foreigners - 1768 - people coming into town either legitimately or taking advantage of the election.   The Whigs (Hoghton & Burgoyne) intended to poll the "inhabitants of the town at large" which could, in principle, allow any newcomers the vote.

4.  Tallies - 1768 - the final vote.  There appears to have been more than one record of the votes - possibly each side wished to keep a record
